AARP Driving Classes @ MMC

The first class will be held in the evenings:

August 25th from 5:45 pm to 10:00 pm
August 28th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm

The second class session will be held during the day:

October 22nd from 9:15 am to 1:30 pm
October 23rd from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm

Anyone over 50 years of age can take the AARP Driver Safety class for an insurance discount for drivers over 50.  Discounts vary from 5-10%; call your insurance company for discount.  (Discounts are mandated by Oregon law.)

Cost:  $12 per class for AARP members, or $14 for non-members.  Maximum of 30 students per class.  Sign-up by calling Mazamas at 503-227-2345. 

You will learn: 

• Defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road
• How to deal with aggressive drivers
• How to handle problem situations such as left turns, right-of-way, interstate highway traffic, trucks and blind spots
• How to safely use anti-lock brakes, air bags and safety belts
