I Like Climbing On: Everything

Mazamas Service: First Aid Committee 2003 - 2006 (Chair 05-06); Climbing Committee (2007 - Present); BCEP Assistant Coordinator 2008 (Coordinator for 2009); BCEP Leader 2008; BCEP Assistant 2003 - 2007; Bulletin Editor 2006 - Present. Major project: Project management of the new dynamic, online climb schedule that debuted in April 2008! I also help out with ICS and ASI in my spare time.

Major Climbing Achievements: Leading a private climb on Mt. Baker in 2006. That was when I decided to become a Mazama leader.

Climbing and Leadership Philosophy: Still developing... Safety and fun are very important to me, in that order. Favorite climbing quote: "Climbing is the only sport where we celebrate at half-time." Getting down safely is just as important as getting up safely - No climb is worth your life. I really like to working with new climbers who want to push their skills and learn new skills.

Favorite Summit Treat: I like vegan things that don't have any strange hidden nuts in them :) I am a big fan of team treats - I always think someone else's food tastes better than whatever I have brought along.

Personal Information: I took BCEP in 2002 and fell in love with the mountains. I am originally from the east coast, but would never consider moving back after discovering what the mountains have to offer. I love the wildlife that you can encounter when in the back country. Mountain goats and picas are two of the best parts of climbing.
