I Like Climbing On: Everything

Mazamas Service: Ski Mountaineering briefly in the late 90's, assisting and lecturing for ICS and Adv Snow and Ice.

Major Climbing Achievements: Making telemark turns at 18,000' on Mt Logan, taking my late father up Mt Hood for his 57th birthday, and rewarding climbs throughout the Cascades.

Climbing and Leadership Philosophy: Safety is paramount, learned the hard way. For climbing, I like to have fun, know when to turn around, soak in views on the summit and maybe dance, and make smart decisions so everyone returns safely. So I love to organize interesting, challenging outings because most of the trip is the climb. I like to lead from the middle.

Favorite Summit Treat: Roasted veggie pizza, dark chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, an outstanding view.

Personal Information: Other hobbies include long-distance trail running, glacier spying, and sea kayaking. Married climb leader Marty Johnson in 2000 on the summit of Mt Hood and skied from the Hogsback in a grass skirt. Left a successful career in high-tech, earned an M.S. in Geology, am addicted to avalanche science, and I'm now working on starting my second career to earn my keep. Active in mountain rescue. Always planning the next adventure...
