Major Climbing Achievements: North Ridge, Mt Stuart, East buttress, Middle Cathedral, Yosemite, Carrying that heavy pack all the way in to do Glacier Peak.

Climbing and Leadership Philosophy: After more than a decade, I still feel in transition from rock climbing in Europe to the scale of trips in the Cascades. So I enjoy each trip being a journey of discovering Place and People in a way that deepens our sense of being at home in the Pacific North West.

Favorite Summit Treat: My assistant remembering the landmarks for the downclimb!

Personal Information: Arrived in Portland in 1989 and met my wife-to-be on my first Mazamas climb. Our kids have both become Mazamas, my favorite summit experience being on Old Snowy when my son (then aged 8) announced that this was the best day of his life. While not earning my living as a banker, I enjoy my other job of teaching yoga.
