Hose clamps for a ski pole fix

Duct tape, miracle fix it material for outdoor adventures, is great for emergency repair jobs on a lot of things. Fixing a broken cross-country ski pole is not one of them. To splice a busted ski pole, add two or three small hose clamps to your fix it kit.  Cut a 6” slit lengthwise in the large diameter half of your broken pole. Overlap the two parts of the pole, screw the clamps tight, and you’ll likely make it back to the car. Remember the ol’ Swiss Army knife for the screwdriver (or possibly a coin or key). To save weight, carry one set of hose clamps per group of skiers.
