Melt snow while climbing
Melt snow while you’re climbing with these two simple trcks, to augment your water supplies.
- Put snow in a heavy duty Ziploc freezer bag bag, and put the bag inside an inner jacket pocket. It will melt while you climb or hike from your body heat.
- Add snow to a dark colored Nalgene bottle, and leave it in the sun at base camp or biner it to the outside of your pack. The snow will melt into water you can drink.
