What’s New on the Mazamas Web

As many homeowners know, a remodeling project can take on a life of it’s own.  What started in the spring as a “fix the roof and slap on a coat of paint” job bloomed into “let’s tear it down to the studs and rebuild”.  We now have a robustnew site, with many new features, that will serve our members for years to come.  Thanks to the over 250 responses we got to our web survey last winter, your suggestions gave us the incentive and guidance to craft our site to your needs.  Many of our new features are a direct result of your survey responses.

For you techie folks, our new site is database driven, not html based.  This approach separates the “look and feel” of thr site from the actual content, making changes to either vastly easier. It also lets us add some cool features, like an events calendar and to allow certain committee chairs and class leaders to edit their individual pages, something not really possible with an html based site.

Here’s an overview of what you’ll find:

  • Faster, one-click access to the most commonly visted pages, through footer links, header links, and quick links from the home page
  • Redesigned site navigation
  • Compatible with all major flavors of web browsers (Firefox uses, rejoice!)
  • Printable pages
  • Events calendar - a yearly guide to all activities
  • More graphics and photos
  • Photo Gallery
  • Integrated site search and sitemap
  • Permanent member login (select “remember my password” and you’ll never have to login again on that computer)
  • (coming soon) Improved committee support - Committees can upload important files for permanent storage

Please explore, and tell us what you think!
