Maps for Climbing and Hiking

Use these maps for your next climbing trip to the Cascades or Portland area hike.  A few notes:

  • Maps are color .pdf files, print on a single sheet of 8.5 x 11” paper, and are about 2 megabytes in size.
  • Maps are NOT 1;24,000 scale. Scale is different on each map, depending on the area shown.
  • Protect your printed maps from the elements (plastic zip lock bag, plastic sheet protector, designated map case)
  • Feel free to download the maps to your own computer.  Right click on the link, and choose “Save As”, or “Save Target As”.  Maps will load much faster if you do this.
  • It takes some time to make each map, that’s why there’s not more areas covered.  More maps will be added, so check back.
  • To read these files, you’ll need Acrobat reader from Adobe on your computer, a free download.  Most all computers have this software already, but get it here if you need it.
  • Disclaimer: Depending on many factors, these maps alone may not be adequate for your navigational needs.  Carefully consider if these maps are appropriate for you.  Map data may not be completely accurate.

Big thanks to Mazama Josh Lockerby for the cartography.  (If you’re a hardcore map geek and want to know how these maps were produced, you can
read the technical details here.)
