First Aid

Course Descriptions and Goals

The First Aid program offers several courses to help leaders and those that that travel in the backcountry environment. We offer both adult CPR & AED courses as well as mountaineering first aid (MFA) based courses.

The Adult CPR & AED is a 2-year certified course from the American Heart Association, the nationally recognized authority in resuscitation and emergency cardiac care.

Our MFA curriculum is based on the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and is constantly updated, accurate, relevant and practical. Our courses are fast-pased and intensive. Our goal is to prepare students to make sound decisions in remote places and use the resources they have when no help is on the way. Students are taught through a combination of lectures, demonstrations and practical scenarios.
