Subscriptions

The Mazama Bulletin, published monthly, contains information about Mazamas activities, almost all of which are open to non-members.  If you’d like a free trial copy, contact us at the Mazama Mountaineering Center and we’ll be happy to send you one. The bulletin includes a complete hike schedule, a listing of evening travel programs, class information/applications, and more.  The current bulletin and back issues are available on the members only password protected portion of this website.

The Bulletin is mailed free to members as part of their membership, and is available at a subscription rate of $15 per year (12 issues).

Bulletin Submissions

We welcome submissions to the Bulletin, and we accept them on a space-available basis.  Deadline:  All copy and material for printing is due by noon on the 14th of the preceding month.  If the 14th falls on a weekend, the deadline is the preceding Friday.

Due to the time required for writing copy and editing, it is much appreciated by our hard working bulletin editors if you can please send in your material BEFORE the actual deadline.

All content for the Bulletin must be submitted by e-mail, unless other arrangements are made directly with the Bulletin Editor.  Please email all bulletin submissions to: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). 

Featured Climb & Featured Hike articles are always welcome. If you led or participated in a great climb or hike and would like to share your experience, please take some time to write and article and submit along with photos to the Bulletin. When sending written content, please send as a .doc, or .rtf file. We reserve the right to edit all submissions.

We are always seeking great climbing & hiking photos! Please send digitally as .jpg (preferred) or .tif. Send photos, with a caption and photo credit to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) (our mazamas.org account is not large enough to handle photos).

Advertising Rates

Advertising is accepted in the Mazama Bulletin.  All ads are accepted on a “space available” basis.  You do not need to be a member of Mazamas to advertise.  Please address all advertising inquiries to our Advertising Manager, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

If you’re thinking of advertising with us and want to see a sample copy, please contact us at the Mazama Mountaineering Center (503-227-2345) and we’ll be glad to send you one.

The advertising deadline is the same as the printed bulletin: All copy and material for printing is due by noon on the 14th of the preceding month.  (If the 14th falls on a weekend, the deadline is the preceding Friday.)

Checks should be made payable to “Mazamas” and mailed to 527 SE 43rd Ave., Portland OR 97215. Or you may pay your advertising invoice online.

1 column page — $30.00 per column inch (min. $60.00)
Quarter page — $100.00
Half page — $175.00
Full page — $300.00

Classified rate - $4.00 per line (approx. 70 letters)

10 percent discount for 12-month agreement

Publication date - The 1st of each month.

Circulation - The Mazama Bulletin is printed and distributed to approximately 3,500 members and subscribers, with significant concentration in the Pacific Northwest, primarily northwest Oregon and southwest Washington.  Current and past issues are available.

Advertising policies
All advertising is accepted subject to the approval of the publisher. The Mazama Bulletin reserves the right to cancel, reject or edit advertising material deemed inappropriate for publication. We will make every effort to prevent mistakes but will be responsible only for the portion of the ad in which a typographical or other error occurs and will correct the error in the next available publication after the error has been brought to our attention.

Rates reflected on this rate card are subject to change with 30 days notice.

Advertisers assume full liability for the content of their advertising materials and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Mazama Bulletin from all claims, suits and related costs arising by reasons of any advertisement.
Position placement is a request and no make-goods or credits will be considered due to position placement issues.
