Activity Notes

Smith Rock is known for it's beautiful rock formations and world renowned climbing however is secretly admired by trail runners and distance hikers. It butts up against the Crooked River National Grasslands which offers some of the most beautiful and quiet trails to explore in the area. This will be a fast-paced hike /easy jog/trail run through the Smith Rock & Grey Butte area. We will start at the Skull Hollow trailhead and make way up Grey Butte and around down towards Smith Rock and Misery Ridge/ Monkey Face and back towards the Grey Butte connector trail for a "figure 8" shaped trail connecting the national grasslands to Smith Rock. This will be a big jog - expect hiking on the up hills and light trail running and jogging on the flats and down hold.

New to trail running? Not a problem! We will all stick together and shorten the loop if necessary. Map will be email out when accepted. Questions? Let me know! We are looking at 19 to 20 mi with 4,500 elevation gain.
